About the showTeam Transport's Toys for Tots Charity Car Show is an annual event drawing together some of the hottest rides on the sport compact car scene. All rides (motorcycles, trucks/SUVs, old school, as well as import and domestics) are welcomed. This is a great time of year when the regular show scene comes to a close and many team members are back in town from college or visiting relatives for the holidays. "We've got our toys, so should they" Those of us on the regular show scene spend the whole year figuring out what to do next to our cars. Many drivers have tens of thousands of dollars invested in modifications, not to mention the car itself. This gives us all the opportunity to reflect on our own prosperity and good fortune, while providing the mechanism to give a little back to the community. It's a chance for us to walk up to a U.S. Marine and say "thanks". It's a chance for local law enforcement to participate in an event "with us", and not watch us for the take down. The only profiling here is the granting children's Christmas wishes. The Toys for Tots Foundation requests that donated toys be unwrapped and worth at least $10. Can you bring a toy worth $10, but purchased on sale for less than $5? Well, of course you can. You might even consider buying two of them and bringing them both. You spend more than that on gourmet coffee or boba each week! Every toy you donate results in an excited child and a relieved parent who can't provide for their little ones. What if you forget to bring a toy? Well, we'll probably have vendors on hand that can sell you toy to donate. You can also write a check or donate cash to the uniformed USMC representatives in the toy collection area. If you cannot afford a $10 toy I truly hope you are attending as a spectator. If you are showing your customized ride, you need to take a look at your priorities. Don't suck, bring a toy. All toys and monies collected are immediately accepted by USMC and Marine Forces Reserve representatives and distributed to needy families within the local counties surrounding the area of where the T4T Car Show is held. Is this event tax deductible? Yes and No. Anything you give directly to the USMC and Toys for Tots Foundation is tax deductible. Team Transport is not a 501(c)(3) charity (yet), nor do we want to take anything from TFT. We promote this event to bring in the toys and monetary donations directly to TFT. Sponsor, vendor, and registration fees go directly towards the cost of putting on the event. We are a recognized partner of the Toys for Tots Foundation as event coordinators. You are responsible for reporting your contributions accurately and truthfully to the IRS. All left over event income is donated to TFT by Team Transport. In reality, we usually take a loss putting on this event. Team Transport charity event accounting is available to anyone requesting it. There are many components to the Toys for Tots Charity Car Show, and we'll explain them in the sections that follow: Speed Ventures: High Performance Driving Experience & Autocross EventHigh Performance Driving Experience: Drive your car on real racetrack! As an added option, the Roval circuit at California Speedway is a challenging 2.5 mile layout that some of the world's top race sanctioning bodies (ALMS, AMA, Grand AM, SCCA, Ferrari Challenge) include in their schedules. It combines the technically challenging infield course with half of the super speedway used by NASCAR and the IRL. You get the challenge of both the tight, twisting left and right turns of the infield and the flat out excitement of one of the fastest racetracks in the world, including the ultra high banked turns one and two. There will be full instruction in racetrack driving and rules for beginners, and drivers will be grouped on track by skill level to insure maximum safety for all. For those wanting an introduction to the big track, there will be a limited group available at a bargain price! For only $195, you'll get 4 on-track sessions of 20 minutes with each group limited to a maximum of 35 cars. This gives you more than an hour and a half on one of the world's great courses for under $200!
For the ultimate big track experience, we have a second option. For $295, you'll have a full five on-track sessions of 23 minutes each. (Over two hours total!) What's more, registration will be very limited in these sessions to keep traffic to an absolute minimum and give you the most open track time possible. You may participate in both the T4T Car Show and the Autocross/track event, but registration is separate. Speed Ventures' events runs track events year round across the west coast. Check their website for one near you (click here) This event will be run on an Autocross course set up in the paved area inside the Super Speedway. It will run concurrently with the track event. You may participate in the autocross only, or drive in both the autocross and the track event. Your registration allows you as many runs as you'd like throughout the day, so you can run the auto-x course multiple times in the time periods between your run sessions. The auto-x circuit will be open from approx. 10am to 5pm. And all experience levels are welcome. You may make as many runs as you like on the course, space and time permitting. A helmet is required. (Motorcycle helmets are OK for the auto-x) If you don't have one, you can reserve a rental helmet when you register. Speed Ventures' events runs autocross events year round across the west coast.
