Categories Explained

It is the intention of Team Transport to recognize as many different categories and participants as possible during each Toys for Tots Charity Car Show.  Whether you drive a JDM, DTM or Domestic, their will be representation in your category/brand.  The more you get your friends to register, the more categories are opened!

Most sport compact brands (JDM/Japanese, DTM/Euro, and Domestic) will be offered automatically.  Additional brand/categories will be opened with 6 cars registered.  To break out a sub-category (ie:  Scion xB vs. All-Scion) requires a minimum of 8 cars (pre-registered and in attendance) for a sub-category to be established.

Additional categories may be established with fewer than 8 vehicles representing a sub-category if a sponsor has specified that category as a condition of their sponsoring the event.  Some categories with limited registration or of specialized interest may only be awarded a single "Best of Show" award.

Please note that this the final list for T4T08; this is our running list of expected/registered vehicles. The list will grow, and in some cases shrink as vehicles register and attend the event.  No categories will be added after Nov. 1, 2008.  Please encourage your friends to register if you would like to see more categories opened/expanded.  Judging criteria is located here

Autocross: Fastest Time of Day (Sunday - all brands)

REMINDER: Normally, a brand/category will be opened with 6 cars registered.  To break out a sub-category (ie: Scion xB vs. All-Scion) requires a minimum of 8 cars (pre-registered and in attendance) for a sub-category to be established.  Categories are added as registration grows.

Because of lower registration we altered this so that a brand/make with less than 6 cars was rolled into a  Best of Show only category for their parent brand.  With 6 cars a 123 category was opened, and 8+ cars of a make/model created a Best of Show + 1, 2, & 3 category.
